What do Super High Achievers do about their Critics?

As a High Achiever, Have you ever noticed that any time you do something great or new or adventurous there are always a few people who try to burst your happiness bubble. . “You didn’t do it right” “You’re not really that great” “Look at her – being so obnoxious and proud” . The question is, what can we do about THOSE people? How should we respond? How can we keep ourselves from being negatively affected? . In this video I share a tip from someone who gets more backlash than almost anyone on the planet and still manages to push through it and keep his focus… all the to being the #1 highest paid movie star in the world? . Who is it and what does he say about his critics? . Watch here and learn from the advice one of his mentors gave him. .   . . Be sure to share your perspective in the comments! Your voice matters! . Subscribe and snatch up your copy of LouAnn’s Strategy Framework: ‘5 Steps from HERE to THERE’ Simply fill out the form below. . . Transcript:   Perhaps you’ve shared a big dream with a friend or family member recently and perhaps they have laughed at you, rolled their eyes, gasped in astonishment, or perhaps you friends and family are silent when you talk about your big dreams and your big goals. You know when that happens to us it can really derail our focus. It can cause us to doubt ourselves. It can cause us to give up on our dreams and our goals and cause us to forget to create the life we really want to live…. if we actually listen to it So what do we do? Well it’s interesting. I was listening to an interview with Tom Cruise on the Graham Norton show.  It’s an older interview but it was so insightful Now Graham Norton said this to Tom: When I interview people who have worked with you they not only like Tom Cruise, but they gush about working with you. They LOVE you and LOVE working with you. He said he never hears a single bad word about Tom Cruise from any of his colleagues. And then he said: On the other hand the media can give you a really hard time. And if you follow Tom Cruise at all you low that’s true. There’s a lot of nonsense out there written about this incredible actor. So, it’s really interesting… Tom responded by saying this: He said he had learned form Paul Newman. Paul said to him, ‘You can’t pay attention to the white noise. Do not listen to the white noise.’ and then Tom added, You have to focus on what you’re doing and do the best job that you can do. (you can hear this part of the interview at minute 13:52  here) And it just seems to me that that advice is spot on and helpful for those of us who are working to create our own version of our own lives. You don’t have to be a movie star to get white noise. Every single person who’s building a life of big dreams and big goals Who’s building a life that’s maybe a little bit different from the people around them Every single person who’s making a change is going to have white noise What white noise are you experiencing in your life right now? and Are you willing to ignore it? It actually takes more strength and more maturity to ignore the white noise around us than it does to stand up and defend ourselves against it And When we ignore all the white noise and focus on what it is we want to do with our lives then we make faster progress We’re actually happier and we actually create the lives we want in a quicker fashion- in a...

What if We Made a Pact?

What if We Made a Pact?

Did you fall off too? You know what I mean. . Did you fall off that resolution bandwagon? . Man – that hurt. I fell on my shoulder… nearly knocked it out! . It seems everyone is falling off the wagon. . Actually – nearly everyone is. You know why?   . Resolutions Don’t Work! They don’t work!!!! . So …. . I’d like to make a pact with you. Watch this week’s video and let me know if you’re in. . I guarantee you – it’ll change your life. . . . . . Be sure to share your perspective in the comments! Your voice matters! . To join our community and snatch up your copy of my worksheet: ‘Achieve your Dreams and Goals: 5 Easy Steps’ simply fill out the form below. . . .   You can create your life. You can, if you want. . Transcript: Did you fall off yet? . You know what I’m talking about. That news years resolution bandwagon thing. . Did you fall off? . Well here’s the thing. I used to always fall off if not on January 1st, I would fall off by the 2nd or 3rd. Sometimes I would make it into February. It never worked for me. It never worked for me because it actually doesn’t work. . Resolutions don’t work! It’s not how humans are made. . You know what works is when we make a resolution in our mind and in our heart of what we want and then the goals and the strategies flow from there. . We all like a new start. We all love a new year. We love making a declaration – but almost all of us fall off that wagon very quickly after the start of it. . I have an idea. What if we made a pact? . What if we made a pact to not beat ourselves up for falling off the bandwagon of resolutions? . I mean we all kind of do that don’t we? We make this resolution we fall off it – we beat ourselves up ….. it’s a terrible cycle. . Think about this for a moment….. . Would you want other people to describe you as an abuser or as someone who controls the people around them and yells and screams at them? …. Well if you don’t want to be described as an abuser or controller, then it means you can’t be an abuser or controller of yourself either. . Because how we treat ourselves is the standard in our lives of how we treat others. . So why don’t we make a pact? Let’s make a pact that we will not beat on ourselves  for falling off the bandwagon  or making a mistake or for being less than perfect . and . when we do accidentally beat up on ourselves….. Let’s make a pact to not beat up on ourselves for beating up on ourselves  – cause that just contributes to the cycle . What happens when we stop beating up on ourselves: We increase our self-worth We increase our self-value We increase our confidence . and all those things come together and then we increase our efficiency and we increase our ability to actually reach the goals we really want to reach. . So whatever with the resolution thing maybe it’s a fun game but when you fall off that resolution bandwagon… no more beating yourself up because you’re human and resolutions don’t work . Alright so that’s the pact I’m making> . Are you in? . If you’re in let me know in the comments wherever you see this video. . Let’s grow our lives and our confidence and let’s move towards our goals. . Let’s create the lives we truly want and let’s start by refusing to beat ourselves up . You can create the life you truly...

But how and why? . Check out the video and share your own thoughts and experience in the comments . It’s time to get free! . . . . Be sure to share your perspective in the comments! Oh……that J word The green monster J word You mean jealousy, don’t you? . Ok . Ive never been jealous . Ok thats a lie. Ive been jealous but here’s what Ive decided: Jealousy is useless. . Heres 3 quick reasons why . 1. It takes energy and focus away from what we really want. You know it takes time and mind power to be jealous. So, why not use that time and mind power to do something good? . ok . 2. When we think bad thoughts like jealousy our brain releases a chemical that makes our whole body feel gross. We talked about that in a previous video. . So, if we don’t want to feel like that then why think those thoughts? . 3. Jealousy is deceiving. . Now We’ve all known that perfect couple. They’re totally in love. They’re always holding hands and kissing. They have a big beautiful house and the most achievement oriented and perfect kids you’ve ever seen in your entire life. . Well, actually we all KNEW that perfect couple because they’re no longer together. . See . We all thought they had the perfect lives, but none of us knew what was going on behind those closed doors. . Jealousy is deceiving. . We almost never know the entire story. . So why not give the whole thing up? . Give up jealousy and use our energy and our focus and our attention to create something we truly want in our own lives? . I mean seriously. You can create jealousy and focus on it if you want. . You can but why? . Why spend all that time and energy creating something that’s so deceiving and misleading and feels bad? . Why not put your energy to good use and create a life you truly want to live? . Give up jealousy. . Create the life you truly want and you won’t have time to think about what others think they have. . You really can create the life you want If you give up putting your energy towards things that don’t help you. . Create Your Life. . You can – If You Want...

They’re Wrong! You MUST Look Back!

They’re Wrong! You MUST Look Back!

You know that meme that says, “Don’t look back – you’re not going that way”? . Well – I have a real problem with that! . I say, “LOOK BACK!” . In this week’s video I explain why we should look back and then I show you how all of that can be used as your fuel. . It’s time to stop hiding our past. . It’s time to stop feeling ashamed! . Check it out and let me know your perspective in the comments. . .   . Be sure to share your perspective in the comments! Your voice matters! . To join our community and snatch up your copy of LouAnn’s worksheet: ‘Achieve your Dreams and Goals: 5 Easy Steps’ simply fill out the form below. . . .   You can create your life. You can, if you want.   Transcript: . I often see those memes on the internet and they say something like, “Don’t look back you’re not going that direction.”  . Every time I see those memes I cringe a little bit. I mean I understand what they’re trying to say don’t look back as if your best days have already past and don’t look back as if your mistakes define who you are today. . I totally get that. But … . There is a strategic power in being willing to look back. here’s an example: My friend said to me just the other day. . She said, “When I hear the term ‘Live Your Dream’ – she said I think of you because two years ago what you’re doing today was just an idea . And now here you are: you’ve relocated, you’re in a whole new career, you’re doing exactly what you said you wanted to do. . Now that reminder from her gave me a lot of power cause it helped me to see from where I was two years ago all the way up to where I am now.  And looking at that progress in the right way – in a celebratory way – actually helps me to refuel for more progress. . If you just look at the present – sometimes  – I don’t know about you – but sometimes I fell like, day in day out . I’m digging in digging in digging in – I’m clawing my way up the mountain… . Sometimes you feel like you’re not making any progress at all. So when we look back and see where we’ve come from, then we have something to celebrate. That gives us power to view where we want to go in the future. . So I say: Look Back! . Go ahead and look back and take that journey that you’ve been on and use it as a celebration and as fuel to move forward. Don’t be afraid of your past. . You know they say it doesn’t matter where you’ve been.  I say it does matter where you’ve been cause every place you’ve been has contributed to who you are today. . And all of that is useful and important and informs everything you do as you move forward. . Now you don’t have to be prisoner of it you can reframe it, you can rethink it, you can rewire those memories so they are used for your power – but don’t forget where you’ve been because that’s part of who you are and it’s incredible how you have overcome and you have stayed committed. . You have risen up and you’ve grown and you’ve become who you are today. . And who you are today is going to inform who you will be tomorrow. . Don’t ever be ashamed of or afraid of your past. . Your past is your power. Use it and move forward. . Create the life you want by using all of the life that you’ve been given ....

Is What You’re Seeing Really Real?

Is What You’re Seeing Really Real?

What if what you’re seeing isn’t really real? . For instance, is this a vase or two faces? . What makes your brain see one thing and someone else see another? . How about a real life example: . You’re sitting at your kitchen table having breakfast and a disagreement ensues. One person interprets the response as reasonable and calm. The other person see and hears anger and condescension. Why do different people interpret the same thing in different ways? . The interesting thing is that your brain doesn’t simply see what is before you in the present. Your brain combines your present with your past before you are even aware of your interpretation. . In some ways this helps us and speeds up our processing. In some ways it hinders us. We get stuck in the past and have a hard time moving forward. . Watch this video to understand more about how your brain processes your experiences and what you can do to ensure you’re seeing reality as it really is. . . . . Earned Not Given

There’s no mystery about creating success. . The same powerful tool moves us towards our goals in every area of life: . Career Relationships Health and Fitness Business  . Any goal you have will be only be reached if you use this incredibly powerful tool. . See, Success is Earned Not Given. . Allow me to explain . . Transcript . Hey there. I’m LouAnn Stropoli and I’m the founder of Inspirational Leading Academy, an Amazon #1 best selling collaborate author, and I help people take the Stop out of their Start. . Today we’re going to talk about the most important tool you have in your tool box to create your success. That tool is Preparation. . Now here’s a real quick example: I LOVE running Spartan races. They are so much fun. They give me so much focus. They give me a reason to train. Spartans are an incredible group of people who support each other in incredible ways. So I recently ran my second race and I was able to compare it to the first one and also look back upon the training and see where I had done well and where I had sort of missed the mark. . Now the thing that I added differently for the second race was running up in the mountains and the hills of California. I would go out for 1-2 hour training runs – and some of these hills – mountains – are pretty straight up. It was great training and I noticed on race day that that training came in really handy because Temecula is really hilly. I found that all the way up to the end of the race I was still running. There were a lot of people who were barely walking at that point. Because I had trained in that way I was actually running feeling really great at that point. . But I also noticed and I know this about myself the weakest part of my body is my upper body strength and I’m working on building it up weight trainings, pushups, handstand pushups are my next goal – but when I got into the race that fact that I hadn’t trained properly with my upper body was very noticeable. . So there’s an obstacle where you have to grab the rings and the bars and you have to move yourself along. When I was a kid that was no problem but on the race I didn’t actually get past the first rung. The rope climb – A lot of the rope climb is your legs too – it’s arms and legs together, but I don’t have a rope. Although I tried – I tried 3 times to get going on the rope, I just could never – I couldn’t figure it out . It was so obvious to me the areas where I was strong in my training ended up being the areas where I was strong in my race. . Ok now that applies to other areas of life too. Our training affects our performance or our success. So for me being a profession musician in my first career I trained my entire life until I got to the place where I was performing professionally – and then I kept training cause it’s a continua process. . So here’s my question: Is there an area of your life where you’re preparing a next step or you’re training to grow? Is there an area? . Now I’ll ask you: Are you doing the proper training to open up that door for yourself? . For instance: Are you trying to move from one career to another? Are you expecting a baby? Are you preparing for a life-long relationship with someone? If so are you taking time to answer all the tough questions together? Are you delving into relationships communication? Are you doing what it...
