You are NOT fat!

You are NOT fat!

I’ve had the privilege of sharing my fitness journey with the clients I coach for several years now. . I’ve noticed a variety of responses from all of us at different times. . * Sometimes we begin with a bang and then fade quickly when it gets hard or when there’s an injury. . * Sometimes we begin slowly but surprise ourselves a few months later with extraordinary focus. . * Sometimes times we are sporadic and therefore so are our results. . * Still other times we are amazingly dedicated – each day diligently completing the intended workout without fail. We do our best. We forgive the rest. Our bodies and overall health are transformed – one small step at a time.  . As a result of coaching others and examining my own journey, I’ve learned a few principles that make all the difference for our success. . Surprisingly, these principles have little to do with our choice of program or nutrition plan. . Rather, they have everything to do with how we view ourselves and how we view our bodies. . I have 3 Principals to help you on your journey. . When you focus on these three things – the rest will fall right into place – even that 6-pack you’re dreaming of.   Tip #1: You are NOT fat! . . You’ve seen and know this message, but it never hurts to emphasize it again. You have hair. You have toenails. You have a nose. . You would never say: I am hair! I am toenails! I am a nose! . You may have some extra fat on your body. . Following the same logical pattern: You HAVE fat. You ARE NOT fat! . If you say, ‘I am fat.’ Your brain will work extra hard to make that come true. . Don’t do that. That’s called self-sabotage. . Instead Say: (in the second person – that’s important for your brain – trust me here) “[Your Name], You have some fat on your body. It’s perfectly ok. If you want to release it, you can. If not, you’re simply perfect just the way you are.”  . Tip #2: Choose Love I don’t mean choose to love others. I’m sure you already do that and know to do that. . What I mean is: Choose to Love YOU! This is harder than one would think. . Truth is – Unless we love ourselves, we will never be able to fully love others. . When we love ourselves, we love our bodies. . Our bodies are gifts in which we live out this wonderful thing called life. . I exercise because I love my body, not because I dislike it. . I exercise because I have the privilege of being the only one who can care for it. . I eat well, because I realize that when I eat unhealthy fats, sugar, or processed foods, I am making a choice to poison myself and create a situation where a future diagnosis will be more probable. . I love myself and my body. That’s why I exercise. Because I love it – not hate it.  . Tip #3: Dare to look in the mirror. I deliberately look at myself in the mirror. Dare I say it – I take photos too – yes – sometimes nude (Note to all: NEVER do I ever send them to anyone or back them up on the cloud! I think we all learned our lesson from the celebrities with that one.) . Why do I do such things? . * Because I...

Honor the Break

Honor the Break

I’ve discovered a very surprising motivator. . It helps me: . Release weight faster Reignite my focus Realign myself after a disappointment Reinvigorate the activity in my brain . It releases endorphins in my body and lights a spark in my neurons. . Do you know what it is? . It’s called a BREAK.  Who knew!?!?! . Here’s what I learned about breaks this past week. . If you’ve been following the FB page you may have noticed that I’m in the middle of a fitness journey. Simply working towards being the most healthy me that I can be. . It’s my custom to do some sort of workout every day. My typical routine is 1/2 hour of strength and a 1/2 of cardio. . The other day, I just felt like switching it up. All I did was 30 minutes of strengthening yoga poses. . Guess what happened in the following two days. Not only did I NOT gain weight – I actually released 1.6 pounds! . My body just wanted a little break before it broke it’s little plateau. . I include breaks in my work day too. They’re schedule and yes .. my iPhone dings when it’s time to “Honor the Break? . I notice (like the last few days) when I get off and don’t take my scheduled breaks, my entire productivity wains. When that happens, I always feel far less than satisfied at the end of the day. . Are you taking breaks? Are they scheduled? . What can you do to include a little more break time in your life? It doesn’t have to be long – but it does have to be an actual break. . I promise – you won’t lose productivity – you’ll actually gain it. . While you ponder that question, here’s a two minute sunset meant to help you rest and relax. . . . See you in the comments! . Loving Ourselves – Why so Difficult?

Loving Ourselves – Why so Difficult?

Welcome!! . So the last couple of weeks we’ve been talking about Loving Ourselves, which I wrote about in the newly released #1 Amazon Best Seller: The Energy of Expansion. http://amzn.to/1xm9k59 . . The more comments I receive, the more I learn that this really is a challenging topic for us. . Either we simply don’t think we are supposed to love ourselves (we’ve been taught that that’s arrogant) or don’t know how (we are wounded in this area). . As a result, we’re going to continue learning together about how to increase our self-love. . Today’s post is a simple list with very little commentary. Be sure to add your perspective and your expertise in the comments. Please add to the list too! . It appears we could all use all the help we can get in this area. . Here Goes!   1. Be Thankful for You (Make a list, Post it, Read it Out Loud) (the creation of you, your body, your intellect, your gifts) . 2. Be Thankful for The People in Your Life (Make a list) (aside from blood relatives, the rest were your choice) . 3. Make a list of things you like about Yourself. (Make a list, Post it, Read it Out Loud) (Anything and everything that you like!!) . 4. Make of list of things you don’t like about Yourself. (It’s probably smaller than you think – once you actually write it down.) . 5. Make a plan to change one of those things you don’t like. (Just take one small step in the right direction – and then another – ) . 5. Do Something nice for Yourself. ( buy flowers, get a massage or pedicure, get a new hair style) . 6. Do something New and Scary. (Developing our courage makes us stronger. That can increase our self-appreciation) . 7. Forgive (Forgiveness is a gift for YOU. It gets those bad people out of your head) . 8. Reduce/Eliminate Toxic Relationships (If folks are dragging you down, it’s ok to create some space between you and them.) . 9. If Spiritual, read what your holy text says about your uniqueness and giftedness. ( You were created with love, uniqueness, & purpose ) . 10. Take a class ( Learning something new gives us increased confidence and excitement) . 11. Set a new Goal ( Funks are created by being stuck in the past. Set a new goal and work towards it and you won’t have time for that funk.) . 12. Exercise on a Regular Basis ( endorphins, strength, accomplishment all help in our self-love) . 13. Identify The Root of those Limiting Thoughts ( It’s 99.9% likely that your present limiting thoughts are rooted in something you heard said or said about you at a previous point in your life. Identify it. Name it. Release it.) . 14. Get some time alone. (Learning to love our own company will create a life of joy and bliss no matter who comes and goes. ) . 15. Celebrate!! (Celebrate your accomplishment or simply just who are you – don’t wait for others to do this for you.) . 16. Look in the Mirror!! (I mean really look. Look at the cool shape of your eyes and the color. Look at the way your neck curves into your shoulders. You have to admit – your human body is very cool!) . 17. Spend time in Your Favorite Place (a nearby pond, the ocean, a park, your backyard ) . 18. Make a list of those you help care for. (Your kids,...

How to Remind Yourself Daily About Your Goals

I once knew somebody who put forth awesome energy creating goals for herself. She was determined and focused. . And yet – with all that life threw her way she soon forgot about her goal and the steps she had created to reach them. She ended up feeling sad and defeated. I know her quite well…. . Eventually she realized: The sun rises and sets every day. It reminds her to wake up and go to sleep. What if she set daily reminders for herself about her goals. She left her defeated feelings in the ditch and began to make the progress in her life that she desired. . She shows you here in this quick video how she made the transition. She hopes it helps you too! Let us know in the comments section. Also share your ideas to help others. See you after!   Summary In previous videos we learned how to: a) Make promises to ourselves (much more meaningful than resolutions) and Connect Affirmations with those promises. You’ll find that video HERE. . b) Identify the Benefits of those promises (Benefits are what motivate us!) That video is HERE. . c) Set Goals and Strategic Steps to reaching those goals which in turn give us the Benefits we want. You’ll find that video HERE. The entire series is HERE. Today we add the last piece: Daily Reminders. My two daily reminders that keep me on track are: 1) My Vision Board (for me it’s an entire wall) 2) My Accent Nail These steps are helping me to change my life this year in ways I could never have imagined. I hope they help you too!! Let us know in the comments section and let us know your ideas too. . . Always remember: Be Inspired! Be Inspirational! Be a Leader! Could Making a Promise Enhance Your Wonderful Life?

Could Making a Promise Enhance Your Wonderful Life?

Here’s a question for you: How many resolutions have you made that have fallen off of the cliff of your life? . Now this question: How many promises have you made that you’ve given up on? . Most of us are likely to forget about our resolutions. Most of us try diligently to fulfill our promises. . So – what if we make a promise to ourselves instead of making resolutions? Would it make a difference? . I think it would make a huge difference. In fact, I’m already seeing a difference in my life from using this technique. . In this video I share how you can use this tool to make your life even more wonderful in 2015. . The video includes closed captioning and  below the video you’ll find a full transcript. . I look forward to your comments!     Always remember: Be Inspired! Be Inspirational! Be a Leader! You’re changing someone’s life simply by being you.   See you in the comments! . Don’t forget to subscribe! When you do, you’ll receive special tips, resources, and personal anecdotes reserved only for our community! Disclaimer: LouAnn is not a doctor, psychiatrist, or a neuroscientist. She is simply one person who has been helped who is now desiring help others. Results of learning to train our subconscious minds will vary and are dependent on many personal factors including how much we practice and focus on changing our focus. OK – now with that out of the way – let’s get back to being focused on living the life of our dreams.   Full Transcript Well I’m glad you’re here today. We’re going to talk today about one technique to help you make 2015 a smashing success. It’s possible you’ve already fallen off the bandwagon of your resolutions. Resolutions don’t actually work very well but we continue to try them year-after-year. Last year we talked about taking our resolutions and throwing them out the window and instead doing a full assessment of the previous year the things we liked the things we didn’t like And then taking those results and setting new goals and purpose for the year to come. You’ll find that post here. This new thing I’m doing for myself this year is I am making a promise. Why is that different and why does that matter as opposed to say making a goal? Well think about this for a second When you make a promise to somebody doesn’t that promise raise your commitment level to actually fulfill it? Doesn’t a promise between you and another person increase the intimacy and the closeness and the trust that you have? Well, if that’s true, then would making a promise to yourself increase your commitment level? Would it increase the trust and intimacy that you have with yourself? Would it remind you that you’re actually worthy of having the very best benefit that promise can give you? I think it will actually change the game drastically. So I’ve gone through and I’ve made some promises to myself and then I’ve attached an affirmation to it that reminds me that I’m actually worthy of the promise. So I’m going to share a couple of my promises with you today just as an example and then I’m going to show you what I’m going to do with those promises. Ok first promise is this: I promise to value myself at a higher level than ever before. And the affirmation I’ve put with it is: I have been magnificent created for a life of purpose and significance. Ok second promise I’ll...

Master Your Subconcious: Part 1

Master Your Subconcious: Part 1

In recent posts we’ve talked about creating consistency as a way to achieve our goals, move forward in life, and experience victory in the areas where we struggle.  Those posts include: Consistency and How to Create Consistency. The truth, however, is that sometimes creating consistency is not enough. We think we can will ourselves into change. We try. We stumble. We backslide.   Well, there’s an answer. Today we’re going to begin a little journey that will take us beyond the surface of our habits and into the depths of our internal engine. The beliefs and memories that influence us the most reside far beneath the conscious levels of our brain. . As it turns out 90-95% of our behaviors and core beliefs are programmed in our subconscious minds! . That’s HUGE!!!! . That means that while we’re creating outside influences in our lives (like the 6 keys to consistency) we must also work on re-forming our subconscious. This is the only way we will be able to truly live the life we desire.   None of us has had a perfect life. That means –  that none of us has a perfectly healthy subconscious. That means –  that we can all benefit from a little maintenance. . My research and simultaneous work on my own subconscious is literally changing my life – for the better! . I want to share what I’ve learned with you.     So you know where we’re headed, the topics in this next month or two will include (not in any particular order):   Understanding & Retraining your Reticular Activating System (RAS) Creating your focus Meditating your way to peace Visualizing your victory Believing your way beyond your limitations Rewiring your brain paths Re-framing your way to success   . Ok – for today: 1) Pinpoint an area of your life which is causing you some resistance. . 2) Write it down. . 3) Share your area in the comments section below. I bet you’ll find you have company. . 4) Also in the comments section below, share the questions/concerns that you have about your subconscious. I’m excited for our little journey! . All Aboard!!     Continue to Remember: Be Inspired! Be Inspirational! Be a Leader! You’re changing someone’s life simply by being you! . . PS If you’re not yet subscribed, sign up now!
