Well I’m glad you’re here today.
We’re going to talk today about one technique to help you make 2015 a smashing success.
It’s possible you’ve already fallen off the bandwagon of your resolutions.
Resolutions don’t actually work very well but we continue to try them year-after-year.
Last year we talked about taking our resolutions and throwing them out the window and instead doing a full assessment of the previous year the things we liked the things we didn’t like And then taking those results and setting new goals and purpose for the year to come. You’ll find that post here.
This new thing I’m doing for myself this year is I am making a promise.
Why is that different and why does that matter as opposed to say making a goal?
Well think about this for a second
When you make a promise to somebody doesn’t that promise raise your commitment level to actually fulfill it?
Doesn’t a promise between you and another person increase the intimacy and the closeness and the trust that you have?
Well, if that’s true, then would making a promise to yourself increase your commitment level?
Would it increase the trust and intimacy that you have with yourself?
Would it remind you that you’re actually worthy of having the very best benefit that promise can give you?
I think it will actually change the game drastically.
So I’ve gone through and I’ve made some promises to myself and then I’ve attached an affirmation to it that reminds me that I’m actually worthy of the promise.
So I’m going to share a couple of my promises with you today just as an example and then I’m going to show you what I’m going to do with those promises.
Ok first promise is this:
I promise to value myself at a higher level than ever before.
And the affirmation I’ve put with it is:
I have been magnificent created for a life of purpose and significance.
Ok second promise I’ll share with you is this:
I promise to forgive and release any person and any thought that is holding me captive.
My affirmation is: I am free I am alive I am soaring with my arms wide open.
Find promises that relate to the areas of 2014 that were disappointing for you.
Take that disappointment turn into a promise for 2015
Then put an affirmation with it that supports your validation to have that promise.
Print it out.
And put that piece of paper everywhere you can.
Okay so there you have it I think this one extra tool out of our toolbox is going to make a huge difference for us in 2015.
Make yourself a promise
Put an affirmation with it
And focus on it
And the next video I’ll show you how you can attach benefits and goals and strategies to make those promises come true.
I’d love to hear about your promises. Go ahead and leave them in the comments box below.
Leave comments, questions, any wisdom you have to share for our community as we move in the 2015 to make it the best year we’ve had yet.
In the meantime Be Inspired! Be Inspirational! Be a Leader!
You’re changing someone’s life simply by being you.
